Journey Along Sassoon Road: 3 Sassoon Road

As we entered our 135th year of medical education and innovation, we witnessed the fruit of careful planning to create desperately-needed and long overdue space on our medical campus. The nine-storey new Academic Building at 3 Sassoon Road, which opened on 5 July 2022, now houses the teaching and learning facilities of the School of Nursing and School of Chinese Medicine. Facilities include lecture theatres, classrooms, clinical skills training centres, research laboratories, a Chinese medicine outpatient clinic, as well as offices for staff, administrators, and research postgraduate students. We also welcomed the addition of a new Learning Commons for all HKUMed students.

This major campus expansion ensures that HKUMed can train more healthcare professionals to meet Hong Kong's evolving needs and enhance its global reputation for research and innovation.
